Stollers are a fourth generation family run independent furniture store established in 1905. They decided to go through a rebranding exercise, including a dramatic facelift to the main façade of the store.

The primary goal of the design initiative was to introduce an innovative lighting solution to the storefront, emphasising the new signage and architectural features of the building. The design also incorporated a dynamic colour-change effect, strategically implemented to mark annual days and events. To achieve this vision, Stollers appointed Lumenata as their Lighting Design and Supply Consultants. ECS, in turn, was selected as their Technical Support, Supply, and Controls Partners for the project, working collaboratively with Lumenata to bring the concept to fruition.

The project featured Traxon Archishape 2.0 Linear RGBA 15×55, with lengths varying between 300mm, 500mm, and 1000mm. This selection was strategically employed to highlight the narrow pillars, new lettering, and the distinctive arched window. Complementing this, RGBW LED Tape was used around the outer perimeter and the internal lettering of the new metal high-level signage.

A notable challenge in the design process was the black-painted façade brickwork. Despite this challenge, a lighting trial was conducted to showcase the saturation and vibrancy of the RGBA solution colors against the black background. The resulting installation surpassed expectations, delivering a range of effects that perfectly aligned with the client’s vision.

Throughout the project, ECS played a crucial role, working alongside Lumenata to provide technical support for product selection, conduct site trials, offer installation training, and complete full controls programming and commissioning upon the project’s conclusion. The collaborative efforts of Stollers, Lumenata, and ECS resulted in the successful realization of an aesthetically pleasing and dynamic lighting solution for the storefront.
