In landmark lighting, intelligent control is where creativity meets capability. It’s what transforms a static installation into a living experience for visitors that can shift in mood, meaning, and efficiency over time.
At ECS, control is the bridge between artistic vision and real-world operation. By drawing on dynamic scene-setting, advanced protocols, and responsive sensor input, we give lighting the ability to react to context – from season, or event, to footfall – without compromising the original design intent. In fact, it is there to enhance it.
Energy performance remains central to every landmark project. Smart zoning, scheduling, daylight monitoring, and occupancy control significantly reduce wasted energy and extend equipment life. This approach delivers measurable value for specifiers, driving down maintenance needs and carbon output while preserving visual impact
Our work at Landmark Forest Adventure Park is a great example. Using a Pharos TPC controller, we unified lighting across the estate, enabling operators to change scenes for events or seasons while lowering energy use during quieter hours.
Similarly, at Manchester’s Tower of Light, we helped commission a fully addressable, colour-changing system in collaboration with TRYKA LED, ensuring seamless synchronisation and effortless day-to-day operation.
Future landmark lighting will only become more intelligent. IoT control, wireless mesh, and real-time analytics are opening new opportunities for responsive, sustainable design.
At ECS, our goal is simple: empower designers and manufacturers with controls that elevate creativity, conserve energy, and ensure every landmark continues to shine – today and for decades to come.
